La Frida series
Frida Kahlo's art and life have been a great source of inspiration for me. Like many other artists who admire her work, I am inspired by her strength to overcome hugh obstacles in her troubled life. In her paintings Frida recorded her pain. Pain caused by illness, love, abandonment, childlessness, betrayals, and divorce. Her narrative work is filled with the dramatic colors of Mexico and graphic with the same intensity of love and pain with which she lived her life.
